About

Hi.  I'm Molly.

I'm the heart, hands and creative force behind Spirit Forward Finery, located in the stunning Sierra Nevada foothills of Northern California.

I am a passionate artist and designer with a deep love for nature and the beauty of all things handmade.  I began my creative quest at a young age playing dress-up and digging through my mother's and auntie's jewelry boxes.  I always loved exploring the treasures they had, the smells of their perfumes that clung to each piece, the textures and colors of their collections.  Later on, I started experimenting with different beads, threads and wires and it didn't take long before I was hooked. Crafting fun, wearable art became something I looked forward to as a creative outlet.

For over a decade, I have honed my craft, creating unique jewelry that incorporates and reflects the organic textures, colors and stories found in the natural world.  My creative process often begins out on trails where I collect an array of natural materials including dried leaves, grasses,  lichens and on an extra lucky day, perhaps a recently shed reptile skin layer.  From there, the wheels just keep turning as I begin to press these materials into metals to create uniquely organic textures that then become wearable art.

When I'm not at my workbench, you can find me tending to my garden, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen (more specifically, anything with my 100 year old sourdough starter), soaking in hot springs or exploring wild and inspiring landscapes often with friends and family, and always with my dog, Zali by my side.

My designs, much like my life, are a celebration of creativity, authenticity and the enduring connection between art and nature.
